About

While I have been authoring books since 2013, it wasn’t until 2021 that necessity forced me to take on the mantle of publisher. The first book I published was Trouble Started: A Young Writers’ Anthology. This was followed the next year with Secrets & Lies: A Young Writers’ Anthology (2022), The Eye: A Young Writers’ Anthology (2023), and Through the Window: A Young Writers’ Anthology (2024). All those books are written by youngsters aged 12-16 and they offer short stories from their perspective. While the stories are about the problems, challenges and struggles faced by adolescents and teens in Malaysia, they are situations that people worldwide can relate to.

While the intention was purely to publish books by my students (under the Junior Writers Programme), the thought of producing books written by me has always been at the back of my mind.

With that in mind, I published Write Away: Creative Writing Workbook for Children in 2023. It provides exercises and guides to help children start writing stories. In 2024, I published Shuggie from the Streets with the intention of raising funds for the Furry Friends Farm animal shelter.

I also published a book by young writers: What the Future Brings: 15 Stories by Young Malaysians. This marks the beginning of anthologies featuring young writers (some are my former students). The purpose is to provide an avenue for young Malaysian talents to get published and have their voices heard.
